THIS WEEK IS THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION FOR WASL RETAKES

WASL Retakes: July 9th Deadline to Register

High school students who want to retake one or more sections of the 10th-grade Washington Assessment of Student Learning in August need to sign up by the end of this week. The actual testing times and locations vary slightly by district, but the state-wide testing window for the August re-takes is the week of August 7th through August 11th.

Students in grades 10 and 11 (Classes of 2007 and 2008) may register on-line for one or more portions of the August 2006 High School Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). Please note that students who were in grade 9 this past year may not test.

Students can sign up by phone through 5 p.m. Friday at 866-400-9275.

Students can sign up online until 11:59 p.m. Sunday at www.k12.wa.us/WASLRegistration.

Families with students in special education who took a different test than the WASL will receive score results back later this summer. Retakes for students with Individual Education Plans will be scheduled for the fall.

To complete the online registration you will need the student’s 10-digit State Student ID. If your student took a WASL test this spring the WASL Score Report will have the 10-digit ID on the top right hand corner.  If you don’t know your state student ID number, please contact your school district. If you can't find your ID, you can register via the toll-free telephone line (866) 400-WASL [(866) 400-9275] between 8 am and 5 pm. Online registrations for the August 2006 High School WASL will be accepted through July 9, 2006.
